The Ride - 2022
Scrapheap Challenge Number: 12
Each year, a few very smart, fun loving people get together somewhere and choose an end destination for the ride.
Exactly how this is done is really just black magic, I believe, or maybe notes in a hat draw, or maybe… you figure it out.
The end destination for this 2022 ride was chosen as Dirranbandi in South West Queensland. A small rural Country town that has a lot going for it as a tourist destination.
There isn’t a lot of rules and regulations on how to get there, just a time for the big fundraising dinner, normally held on the Saturday night at the final destination. Getting there is entirely up to the riders.
There is of course lots of incentives and special awards available on the night.
Like, the shortest distance to get there, the longest distance to get there, the best dressed rider/s, and the list goes on for a bit.
Bingara Scrapheap Journey
This could be a very short ride… but of course where would the fun be in that.
Google Maps provides 3 suggested routes to take, with distances between 327 Kilometres (3 Hr 38 Mins) up to 403 Kilometres (4 Hr 41 Mins).
So which one would we take… None we managed to get to Dirranbandi from Bingara by traveling approximately 2,271 kilometres in the quick time of 9 days. See the map below for more.
